Why A2Me has no ads and no algorithm

Most social apps are built around one question: how do we keep you here longer? Every design decision flows from it. The feed is ranked by what makes you scroll. The notifications are tuned to pull you back. The business works because advertisers pay for the time you spend.

A2Me is built around a different question: will this matter to your family in twenty years?

What that changes

There is no algorithm. Your feed is your family, in the order things happened. Nobody decides that your cousin's post is more engaging than your mother's. If your grandmother posts once a month, you see it.

There are no ads. Not now, not later. The moment a company sells attention, every product decision bends toward it. We would rather charge a fair price for the things that cost real money, like printed calendars and yearbooks, and keep the everyday app free.

Your family decides who sees what. A2Me is organized around your family tree, not a friends list. When you share a photo of your kids, it goes to the people in your tree you chose, and that is the end of it. There is no public profile for strangers to find, and no "people you may know."

Children are protected by design. A parent can give a child a place in the tree without the child having an account, a password, or a feed. The photos of them live with the family, not on a platform that treats them as content.

What it costs

A product like this grows slowly, because it does not spread by making people anxious. Families join because one person decided it was worth bringing everyone in. We are fine with that. We would rather be the app your family still uses at the next reunion than the one everyone downloaded and forgot.

If you have been looking for a place to keep your family's photos, stories and history that is not trying to sell them, that is what we are building. We would love for your family to try it.
